Looks like Fox is awake here, but they were asleep...oops, guess I need to start posting more often, these were from November. I think Christmas is still on the camera!

I found my tree we used for Christmas '09 outside against the apartment, it had been pulled up by the roots. :( Guess Tod decided it wasn't worth keeping anymore, he told me it was dead, but I knew it wasn't...he's always hated that tree since the day we got it from Sam's Club to be our Christmas tree, he didn't like it cause it was a Norfolk Pine, not a traditional Christmas Pine...and it had sparkles on it, he said it was a tropical pine and a silly idea to decorate it (but did he get us a real tree? nope). He refused to contribute to decorating the tree, but remained lounging in his chair where he could observe and make fun of our silly festivities. I think he was happy I forgot to water my tree and that it died...his plant is flourishing, while my tree is dying...he didn' t water it for me cause he "didn't know I hadn't watered it." After the tree was gone from the pot, Axel immediately gathered his toys and proceeded to use pot of dirt as a sandbox, he spent endless hours playing in that pot! Guess that works since it was too cold to go outside.

Have Miracles Ceased...I Say Unto You, Nay

27Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God, to claim of the Father his rights of mercy which he hath upon the children of men?

28For he hath answered the ends of the law, and he claimeth all those who have faith in him; and they who have faith in him will cleave unto every good thing; wherefore he advocateth the cause of the children of men; and he dwelleth eternally in the heavens.

29And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men.

Ever since I had surgery on my back, I have not been able to keep this scripture from running through my mind. I am so grateful that we do have the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today and that we do have the priesthood readily available to us and that there are faithful men that are willing and able to exercise this power in times of need. It's been awhile, but I thought I should write down this experience and also share it with family and friends. I do this because I believe that through this experience my testimony in Jesus Christ, in miracles, and in the priesthood has been greatly strengthened.

Around the end of September, I had surgery to have a lump removed from my back, it was large enough to take more time than doctors had anticipated, but it was removed successfully, examined and thankfully later reported free of cancerous material. I was shortly afterward sent home with prescriptions for pain and antibiotics. Not wanting to feel any pain whatsoever, my friend, Debi and I decided to stop first at the pharmacy. There I began feeling faint and began blacking out (only because it was taking them more than an hour to fill my prescriptions) and I ended up being rushed to the hospital mainly because the paramedics were worried that I had nerve damage, (although I told them all I needed was water,) and because I was saying things I wouldn't normally say. I had low blood pressure and I had many symptoms of nerve damage.
I remember everything, and I also remember feeling fearful that I might be in real danger because one of the paramedics told me that I had to go to the hospital (when I continued to protest against it) because there could be something seriously wrong due to the surgery and because of the depth, there could potentially be damaged nerves. I was later wheeled through a series of tests and measurements only to be told that I would need to have a second surgery immediately because my blood was not clotting. Once I heard this, (even though anyone who came to visit me would tell you I was completely out of it)I knew that all I needed was a blessing and that everything would be fine. I immediately told the nurses that I needed a blessing from someone in my church, they offered to get the priest that was in the building, I told them I needed someone from my church and demanded a phone and a phone book. All I could think of was that I needed to call Elder Patino and Elder Gibbons because I knew they would be able to give me a blessing. I had left my phone in the diaper bag I left with my visiting teacher who was watching Axel, so I didn't have anyone's number. I ended up making one phone call to our previous bishop and I was confident he would be able to reach the Elders and that they would be able to give me a blessing (I had previously yelled at all the nurses and told them not to tell Tod that I was in the hospital because he was at work and I didn't want him to have to be disrupted at work!) After I received that blessing from the Elders I felt at peace and knew that I would be fine during and after the surgery.
I guess after that I was able to finally let myself pass out or I'm sure the nurses gave me a bunch of sleeping pills so that they wouldn't have to listen to me anymore! All I remember is that I heard the doctor talking to Tod and telling him that I was ready to go home, so I thought I had slept through the second surgery, but then I heard the doctor say that they had run the tests again and everything was back to normal! I didn't expect such a miraculous outcome, I just knew Heavenly Father would take care of me, but I was also very relieved and grateful that I didn't have to go through another surgery! I am grateful for Elder Patino and Elder Gibbons and that they were willing and ready to utilize the power of God which they hold, even though (everyone tells me) I was acting like a crazy woman! Though I could and still can recall almost every thought and word I said to everyone that day, and almost everything that was going on around me, I know that time will eventually diminish those memories, but I can tell you that I will always remember that Heavenly Father does know me, He does listen to the prayers of his servants, and through the faith of those involved, He does perform great miracles. I exercised my faith and by doing so I can tell you that miracles do take place according to our faith and are wrought about through His willing and prepared servants...also known as the angels who are among us.

Fox has a hard time sitting still for scriptures, so now we have him draw pictures of what he hears us reading about in the scriptures, then I take a picture of what he draws kind of like a journal or something! It's been a lot better since we started this, although now we have to find a way to get Axel involved, but right now he just sits and quietly plays...so it's not that bad.

Fox got a new bigger jumping ball, so he gave his smaller one to Axel! Last night they had so much fun jumping around.

Axel hasn't really mastered the jumping and moving forward part, but he's doing pretty well. He jumps in place for a little bit then kind of walks and scoots him and his ball forward!

Axel got this awesome wagon for Christmas. It seats two kids, has seat belts, has cup holders, a little door and a storage compartment underneath one of the seats. The boys would spend all day in the wagon just playing around, until today...

We finally got a chance to take it outside and the kids got a wagon ride. The snow has finally melted enough so we could take the wagon out, but it was really icy.

Since Christmas Day,Axel has spent most of his time in his wagon buckling himself. He has mastered the seat buckles for his booster seat and for the wagon!

Axel doesn't like to be outside, if I take him he will stand out there and cry. I thin a lot of it has to do with he's so bundled up he can't move! So instead he plays the boot game! He tries to sit on one of Tod's rubber boots, and sometimes he tries to lay on it.

Let it snow!

The boys had a lot of fun playing in the snow yesterday. The snow was very nice sticking snow, so it made a great snowman even though there wasn't much snow (a couple of inches or so). Fox loved sledding except for the times he ran into the deck or into the fence, but he continued sledding. I kept taking Axel down with me on the sled, cause I thought maybe he would become less afraid the more times we went, but he didn't really like it. Yea for snow!

We saw these huge bulls. I have never seen horns so long, and bulls so gigantic.

We stopped at Starbucks on the way home, they have an old 2 cell jail. Kind of spooky to me.

The boys went to a community carnival, and also went trick-or-treating around Grangeville. Fox carried 2 trick-or-treat bags most of the time until they got too heavy. Axel was in the stroller. At one house a guy called Fox a greedy little boy for having two bags until he noticed I was there with the stroller! Fox and Axel dumped their candy all over the floor. Axel didn't want to have anything to do with his own candy, he only wanted Fox's. He had a few odd behaviors that night...he kept walking on all of the candy, over and over again. Guess he thought it made a nice noise.

Fox got quite a lot, at the carnival he did the cake walk and won twice in a row, while no one else had won anything! The boys were both pirates last night, I didn't think it would be fun trying to keep Axel's bear hat on all night.

Whenever Axel sees the vacuum cleaner, he signs "more," and when I bring the vacuum out he gets really excited, but runs to a hiding spot, usually under the desk or behind the table. If I vacuum close to him he gets upset and screams or cries...so I don't know why he likes the vacuum!

Fox's swimming lessons in Clarkston

Fox did very well in swimming lessons this year in Clarkston. He was in the beginning comfort class, his teacher says he passed that level! He did not do so well when we moved to Grangeville. We put him in the level 1 class, but he did not pass the level. The second week, which was the last week of swim lessons, he wouldn't even get in the water except on life jacket day. The lady at the Grangeville pool who was in charge said she could not control the temperature in the pool, so most days the pool water was freezing. Poor Fox. I guess there is a big difference between outdoor pools and indoor pools. Better luck next year.

Fox had a birthday party on Saturday and invited a few friends. We had a piñata, decorated cupcakes, and opened presents at the park.

We started the day off with a breakfast at the church. Fox was able to sing with the primary "My Flag," and "This is my Country," but ended up pouting through the two songs and waving his flag to the ground!

Then Fox was able to participate in the 4th of July parade with his decorated bike. There were no prizes, but if there were he would have definately won fastest and best decorated bike!

Then we spent the rest of the day with Shareena and Flynn at the park and at a BBQ waiting for fire works that only lasted 10 minutes! Axel cried when he saw the first few. Then he fell asleep.

He did this back in January, I forgot to post it. I thought it was such a cute picture. I love how almost everything is separated from the head, and how the arms are connected to the head. The square thing in the middle is the belly, the smaller circle next to it is the bellybutton. Then of course the two circles at the bottom are the legs/feet.

Axel's first birthday was not too exciting. Daddy was gone, so we celebrated it on Sunday the 6th. He didn't really enjoy his little baby cake...he kept squishing it, then crying because his hands were messy. He didn't even take a bite, he mostly just whined about it. I finally cut the cake and gave everyone a piece because he didn't really care for it.

This is Fox's little friend, Ashlyn. Her and Fox are somehow connected and they understand each other pretty well, (though they look like total opposites!) They are just so happy playing together ALL DAY LONG and they both are very sad when they are separated! I'm glad Fox has found a really good friend...and a cute one too!

Swimming Pool

We went to the community wading pool, and Axel got to go swimming for the first time. Axel had a fun time walking around in the pool while holding on to the edge, and floating in the little floaty tube. We ended going home because we couldn't keep Axel from licking the edge of the pool!
